Bit of a nerve wracking one this – painting my very first hummingbird! I am still reasonably new to painting and working towards taking some leaps and risks to grow and be able to express myself in a more compelling and meaningful way as an artist and creative.
I started with my comfort zone – blending! (see below)

I then worked to put down the rough shape and base colour blocks for the Hummingbird – just as a rough guid to allow me to fill out the right shape foundations and darker layers.

Finally I managed to get the following three layers to work and with some masking tape fudging – tidied up the messy wing (uppermost).
