Time taken to paint the piece: ~3 hours

I joined the Prophetic Art team at Loved To Worship September 2025 gathering and had a lot of fun, dancing, singing worshiping and laughter.
The piece I produced in just over 3 hours shows a man learning to surrender to God and as he does God reveals his glory and pours out his Spirit into the man’s life.
Maybe you are asking yourself – what is this guy on about?!!? I can tell you if you had said that to me 10 years ago, I would have thought you were mad – the truth is I have had some amazing encounters and adventures and have seen that this is all real!

Anyway back to the art! I started with some thick Acrylic and mixed them on the palette, applying them to the canvas medium to dry, I then used my favourite blending brush of all time (see right) which was damp, not wet to blend small sections of the sky, focussing on a small area at a time.
I worked each area taking care not to over paint the central section. Finally when I was happy the subtle tones of the sky were good, I took that same brush and with a touch more water I blended from the bottom up in canvas wide strokes without over working the paint.

This gave me the effect you can see to the left…
As you can see its a nice general effect and its something I had to lean into given the time constraints, and given I am not the best artist when it comes to minute detail and photo-like quality – I am more impressionistic and abstract. In short I had fun with this effect and really enjoyed the results!
While painting I was oblivious to everything around me and only chatting to Kirsty – who is an amazing artist by the way! So laughing, dancing and enjoying the art work I got on with it.
My final reveal was to peel away the man kneeling in surrender – my gimmick is that I had these easter egg type things nested in the painting and prep before arriving at these events, and love to do a cheeky reveal when I am showing the piece at the end of these types of conferences.
Then I was done, tired and wanting to go and hide at the back for a bit – I love these events but I do get tired in front of people. I sat down on a near empty row and a lady next to me said “Can I buy your painting!” and handed me some cash! I felt so blessed that she made the offer and of course accepted and we shook hands.
As I went to get a pic with her and her new painting a queue had formed, and I was quite confused why!?! They all wanted pictures and prints.
At this point I felt really encouraged, confused and blessed all at once, and after talking and doing some photos – managed to hand over the piece to the new owner! What a day!?!?
If you want any advice / tips or tricks reach out and I will do my best to get back to you!
